Participating Institutions

The EPOS program collaborates with numerous esteemed German universities and institutions. Applicants must apply directly to the specific postgraduate course of their choice. A comprehensive list of participating courses and institutions can be found here: List of Participating Institutions

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree (usually a four-year course) in a relevant field

  • Achieved above-average academic results (top third of class)
  • Possess at least two years of relevant professional experience after obtaining the Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the language of instruction (English or German), depending on the chosen program. For English-taught programs, a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent is typically required.
  • Motivation aligned with development goals and a commitment to applying the acquired knowledge in their home country.

  • Have not resided in Germany for more than 15 months at the time of application.
  • The latest academic degree should not be older than 6 years

  • Monthly Stipend:

    • €992 for Master’s and other postgraduate courses

    • €1,300 for doctoral candidates

  • Preparatory German language course
  • Payments towards health, accident, and personal liability insurance

  • Travel allowance

  • Monthly rent subsidy (if applicable)

  • Monthly allowance for accompanying family members (if applicable)

Note: Tuition fees are generally waived for scholarship holders, but there may be registration or enrollment fees you have to pay.

  1. DAAD Application Form completed and signed

  2. A Curriculum Vitae (CV) in Europass format

  3. A Letter of Motivation clearly outlining the applicant’s motivation and alignment with the program’s objectives

  4. Certified copies of higher education degree certificates

  5. Full set of transcripts of records

  6. Letters or certificates demonstrating at least two years of relevant professional experience

  7. Valid proof of language proficiency (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL, TestDaF)

  8. A letter of recommendation from your current employer. The letter must include an official letterhead, a signature, and an official stamp, and must be of the current date.

      1. Select a Course: Identify eligible postgraduate courses

      2. Prepare Application: Gather all required documents as specified by the chosen course

      3. Submit Application: Applications must be sent directly to the respective university offering the selected course. Do not send applications to DAAD.

      4. University Selection: The university will review applications and nominate candidates for the DAAD scholarship.

      5. DAAD Selection: Nominated candidates will be contacted by DAAD to upload their documents to the DAAD portal for final selection.
